LA CONNER
Thru Mar. 25,  Three fascinating exhibits at the La Conner Quilt Museum.  The first, “Variations on a Theme: Wearables & Quilts,” features the work of Susanne Staton.  “Ten Years of Beaded Quilts,” features the embellished art quilts of Thom Atkins, an artist who has worked in mediums including painting, stained glass, clay and bronze sculpture, fabric and more.  Lastly, “Embroidered Beauties: Old and New” displays embroidered quilts from the past 200 years.  Wednesday through Sunday 11-5pm.  Closed on major holidays.  $5 admission, children under 12 are free.  703 South 2nd Street.  For more information please call 360-466-4288 or see the museum’s website at www.laconnerquilts.com.

CASTLE ROCK
Feb. 1-29,  The Castle Rock Exhibit Hall presents its annual month-long Quilt Show. Enjoy new and old quilts on display throughout three museum galleries. View exhibits on local history, logging, and Mt. St. Helens while you experience dozens of beautiful quilts. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted! VANCOUVER
Feb. 16,  Third Thursday Technique of the Month class hosted by the Third Thursday Quilters.  Head out to the Grange Hall at 9400 NE 72nd Ave. to learn a new technique and enjoy the company of other quilters.  Class is free, but donations are accepted to defray costs.  Class is held every third Thursday of the month from 10am to 2pm.  For more information please call Jenny at 360-574-1988.

BREMERTON
Feb. 17-18,  Kitsap Quilters 26th Annual Quilt Show, “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.”  Enjoy over 200 quilts on display; vendors from Washington and Oregon; special featured artist exhibit; demonstrations, and the members’ boutique.  A café will also be available so that you can make a full day of your visit.  Held at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in the President’s Hall.  Be sure to stop by the Carraige Country Quilts booth in the vendor mall!  Show hours are Friday 10am-5:30pm and Saturday 10am-5pm.  A $5 admission donation is requested at the door.  For further information please see kitsapquilters.com.

OLYMPIA
Feb. 17-18,  “A Symphony of Stitches,” the 2012 Quiltmakers of Olympia Quilt Show.  Show will feature the works of over 50 quilters, as well as demos, a bed turning and more.  Held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1601 North Street SE.  Hours are 10-5:30 Friday and 10-4:30 Saturday.  Admission is $5 for adults, children 12 and under are free.  For more information please see olympiaquiltmakers.com.

Feb. 18,  Art & Sew’l offers three fabulous block of the month projects.  “Cinco de Mayo” lets your inner child out to play with patterns, color and texture!  10-10:45am.  “Farmer’s Wife Gets a Makeover” puts a new spin on the classic Farmer’s Wife block designs, combining traditional piecing with modern fabrics to make stunning 6” blocks!  11:15-noon.  “Cat Acatemy” is a wonderful cat themed appliqué project.  12:30-1:30.  Next session for all three projects will be February 18.  Art & Sew’l is located at 2727 E. Feb. 18-19,  6th Annual “Around the Block” Quilt Show at the Fairgrounds, in Elma.  This non-judged show will include an award for “People’s Choice Quilt” as well as several vendors from throughout the region.  Hours are Saturday 10-5pm and Sunday 11-4pm.  Held at the Grays Harbor Fair and Event Center.  Admission is $4.  To display quilts please bring them to the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds on Wednesday or Thursday, February 15-16 between the hours of 2-6pm.  All quilters entering a quilt will receive a free show pass.  There is no charge to display a quilt.  For more information please call 360-482-2651 or see www.ghcfairgrounds.com or see ad on page 9.
